Saturday of week 30: The Belly Fat Cure

I received an email from a BFC friend yesterday about the concerns he had in the differences of the Fast Track book and the 1rst Belly Fat Cure book. (he is new and was getting confused.)

Where as I believe in eating a lot of vegetables in our diet, I also think that to be able to do this long term, you need to eat some grain carbs too. That's just my opinion. I think that if you eliminate then all together as is stated in the Fast Track Book, you will be doomed to fail. It is not very realistic that you can go without grain carbs for a long period of time. Now remember, this is just my opinion.

Let me know what you think.....

I plan on going to the movies maybe today or tomorrow. When I do this I will skip my carbs with my lunch so I can have popcorn. I usually don't put butter on it only because it has so many extra calories in it. Since I can't have candy anymore, Popcorn is a treat that I will not give up.

I probably shouldn't say, but I am down to 181 lbs this morning. That's 57 lbs lost to date. Every time I might think that I am at a stand still, my body surprises me.

Well thanks for listening as usual. Love to all of my BFC friends. Please leave your comments.

My thought for the day:
I am just a regular person like you. I am not in his book and don't know him. I just got his book and started doing the BFC. If I can do this you can too. The only support we might get is from each other. Please give our fellow BFC r's any support and help that you can.

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. YaY! You're down a pound from yesterday! Congrats!
Concerning the Fast Track bk...he addresses this question in the back under Q&A. My Opinion is that his understanding of weight loss is always evolving and therefore he considers the new book a tweaking of that understanding per se. Looks like he goes much deeper into the explanation of what is going on inside your body and also addresses the issues of emotional eating and gives exercise advise. There will ALWAYS be something new! I say...do what works and feels good to you, so you can live a healthy life with it. I plan to stick with BFC and incorporate some of his good points from FT. BTW LOVE Your Thought for the Day! You're an inspiration, Rosalie!!!

  2. I enjoy reading your blog. You are doing so well. I agree with you about the Fast Track, and while I was so looking forward to reading all about it, I too felt that the regular BFC is a much better diet for real life. For me it was just a new awareness of SUGAR and it was so surprising to me how satisfied I am without it. I had very little weight to lose and it has been gone since February now, but I have maintained this lower weight effortlessly and have watched as my youngest college daughter easily and HAPPILY lost her freshman 15 this summer and her diet has changed so much that she has no worry of gaining it back again when she goes back to college next week. I think about it as EATING with INTENTION and AWARENESS. I have four daughters and three of them "GET IT" and the fourth is still learning. I am so excited for them to learn it young. The Fast Track seems way too restrictive and I think a person would give up and give in and cheat and then QUIT! I know there is nothing I cannot eat..but I do it consciously. This last week we started frying our daily morning egg in coconut oil as I was reading about all sorts of curative properties of it....and both of us both lost weight...have you tried that for cooking at all? You can get it near the oils ..it comes in a jar and looks kind of like crisco because the melting point is 74 degrees. It smells of coconut and a tiny on your tongue tastes like it too but it doesn't really add that flavor when it is cooked. We jokingly say ..it tastes yummy and kills our STD's too....not that we have any but the list of cures with it was LONG! Keep up the good eating!
